About Me

My name is Rae and welcome to my blog!

I am a Child of the Living God, happily married to my Superman and mama to 3 human babies and 2 fur babies.

I am a 2 time survivor of Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Anxiety/OCD. My journey through maternal mental illness left me feeling broken, isolated, and hopeless and included 2 hospitalizations for suicide ideation. After my first hospitalization I began writing as a form of therapy to help me through the darkness. One of the biggest lessons I have learned as I have struggled through PPD/PPA/OCD is that support and community is important with recovery. I can’t tell you how many countless hours I spent on Facebook, Instagram and other mom’s blogging sites reading their journeys and learning from them.

I have chosen to take a leap of faith by following God’s direction with my life and share my journey with the world in hopes that I can help other moms, like myself. Where it will lead, I am not sure but I know God is guiding me and I hope you will find encouragement from my journey.

Before I go, I want to share lyrics from one of my favorite songs. It is called “Beautiful Things” by Gungor and every time I hear it, I can’t help but be overwhelmed with emotion knowing how loved we are by Christ and no matter where you are in your journey, He can use you to make beautiful things.

“All this pain, I wonder if I’ll ever find my way. I wonder if my life could really change at all. All this earth, could all that is lost ever be found? Could a garden come up from this ground at all? You make beautiful things. You make beautiful things out of the dust. You make beautiful things. You make beautiful things out of us. All around, hope is springing up from this old ground. Out of chaos life is being found in You.” <3

Love in Christ,

Rae
